I just got 2 old cameras from a garage sale. One is an old brownie movie camera and the other is a Super 8. I was wondering if it would be worth the money to buy some film for 'em and make a movie. If not, the cameras sell on ebay for a decent amount.

Absolutely. Kodak has 4 different super8 films still available 2 b/w and 2 colour. They run about $30(Canadian, colour) for 3 1/2 mins. This includes processing. The b/w is a bit cheaper and from what I understand it's fairly easy to develop it at home. Super8 is the perfect medium for getting started in motion imaging. The cameras can be had for super cheap and you can buy stock as you can afford it, instead of paying 1-2000 dollars for a video camera outright. Super8 can make very nice quality pictures. Super8 is film though so it also causes the user to learn about exposure and lighting which will easily transfer over to video. Go buy a cartridge of S8 and give it a whirl. I think you'll fall in love with it. Good luck.
